That’s nearly 1 in 10 people worldwide—twice the population of the United States. Most live in remote rural areas, spending hours each day collecting water for their families. This burden keeps children out of school and parents from earning a living. Worse still, the water they gather is often contaminated, leading to illnesses that impact entire families and communities
